Tens Foreign Youths Learn About Urban Farming in Jakarta

18 youths from Universitas Indonesia's Association internationale des étudiants en sciences économiques et commerciales (AIESEC) visit urban farming pilot location and green alley at RW 03, Cempaka Putih, Central Jakarta.

In that chance, they learn about hydroponic

Jakarta Maritime Agriculture and Food Tenacity (KPKP) Dept. Head, Darjamuni said, those youths came from Netherlands, China, Germany, Ireland, Egypt, Cambodia, Italy and Vietnam.

"In that chance, they learn about hydroponic which is explained by Hendra Kurnia and friends from Jakarta Urban Farming Community," he explained, Sunday (8/5).

Council Supports City to Utilize Advanced Technology For Urban Farming

He hopes this visit can arouse all youths awareness about the importance of greening, environment preservation, and pollution level reduction in Jakarta.

"Especially to make young generations to be aware to do greening in their house's yard or by making green alley," he affirmed.

His side appreciates this visit. Because this visit can indirectly mean that urban farming becomes one of the world's attentions.

"Moreover, those youths who came from different nations are very enthusiastic to learn about urban farming," he stated.
